For an early Sunday morning start, the East Strand in Portrush with clear sunny skies was the perfect backdrop for this year’s Big Bay Swim on the North Coast. The light southerly breeze calmed the waters quite a bit, but the opinion was that, for the 3km, 1.5km and 750m distances on offer, it was challenging but overall, a very enjoyable open water swimming experience.
Huge congratulations to everyone who took part and achieved their personal goals in all three distances – well done! Firstly, a special thank you to all the event volunteers, safety boat and kayak crews as well as the event medical cover, elite timing and to the staff from the event hub at the Water Sports Centre.
